Radio One Forum for Senate Candidates Begins Oct. 20

Oct. 14, 2008 — Want to find out what happened to specific legislative issues over the last two years, or what the new crop of senatorial aspirants has to offer the voters?
WVWI Radio One is offering an opportunity to make your voice heard. Beginning Oct. 20 it will conduct a senate candidates' forum beginning at 8 a.m. weekdays.
Hosted by Sam Topp and Stephanie Scott Williams, the forum will give each candidate one hour of air time to talk about his or her platform and field questions from the public, along with those from the radio hosts, according to a news release from Scott Brake, WVWI's station manager.
All candidates in each district have been invited, Brake said. He will schedule up to four candidates per day.
The purpose of the forum is to inform the voters to make the most educated decisions come Nov. 4, Brake said. CBS news will be aired at the top of each hour. Brake is the only person scheduling the interviews, according to the release. He can be reached at 776-1000, ext. 236.
