Christmas Tree Raffle Event to Benefit Animal Center

Nov. 13, 2008 – The St. Croix Animal Welfare Center (AWC) will host a tree raffle event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 29. Buy a chance on a fully decorated tree and help the homeless animals of St. Croix. From now until then, the AWC flea market is selling chances on a decorated Christmas tree for only $1. The winning ticket will be drawn as part of a special sales event spectacular.
In addition to the tree raffle, AWC will hold a bake sale, pet adoption and holiday sales storewide on flea market merchandise.
The special sales for the tree raffle event include 50 percent off Christmas ornaments, holiday décor, lights, clothing and shoes for $1 or less; textiles and linens for $2 or less; 50 percent off furniture and small appliances.
The flea market sells gently used goods to the public. Donations are welcome and tax deductible. AWC donations acceptance policy is as follows:
* No wet, torn, stained or broken items
* No medical supplies
* No computer monitors, printers, hard drives, faxes, scanners
* No commercial products (please residential household goods only)
* No plumbing supplies (no sinks, bathtubs, toilets, piping)
