Flavors of St. John Set for Saturday

Nov. 17, 2008 — Dust off your glad rags and fire up your taste buds: Flavors of St. John is set for Saturday at the Westin Resort and Villas.
The eighth annual Rotary Club of St. John party features foods from 20 St. John restaurants, as well as a wine tasting.
"It's a blast," said Rotary Club President B.J. Harris.
Cocktails start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the food at 7:30 p.m. Dress is island fancy. Tickets run $100 per person and are still available, Harris said.
The ticket includes appetizer-size samplings of the restaurants' signature dishes, a chance to taste a variety of wines, and glasses of white or red wine poured from bottles on the table. There will also be a cash bar and music by Paradise People.
Ticket holders get to vote on which restaurant provided the best food.
The money raised at Flavors of St. John, the club's largest fund raiser, goes to support college scholarships for St. John youths, as well as other projects.
Buy tickets from any Rotary Club of St. John member, at Chelsea Drug Store on St. Thomas or St. John, at Connections, or by visiting flavorsstjohn.com.
The Westin is offering a limited number of rooms Saturday night at a special rate of $139 per night plus tax. To reserve a room, call the Westin directly at 693-8000 or visit westinresortstjohn.com.
