Volunteers Needed to Help Restore Estate Adventure Trail

Dec. 2, 2008 – The Virgin Islands Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. (V.I. RC&D) is seeking volunteers to continue to help restore the Estate Adventure Nature Trail from the damage inflicted by Hurricane Omar and to build a new bridge across the gut. Join with others to help clear downed trees and debris, mow weeds, repair two damaged wooden bridges and build a new bridge.
Volunteers will meet at 7 a.m. and work until 11:30 a.m., on Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Adventure Trail kiosk across Queen Mary Highway from the V.I. Ag Fair Grounds, Estate Lower Love, St. Croix. All students seeking community service hours, teachers, hikers, birders, ecologists, researchers and St. Croix nature-lovers who want to help restore and expand the nature trail are welcome. Please bring gloves and wear clothing suitable for working in the bush. Water, snacks and tools will be provided.
