District Hosts Joint Meeting of All PTAs on April 22

A joint Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting has been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, at the Curriculum Center in Tutu. The meeting will be the building block to improved communications and collaborations between the district and PTAs. “We are hoping for introductions and to begin planning our Parent Conference for the upcoming school year as well as to increase support and participation in the National PTA Conference and the Parent University,” said Superintendent for the St. Thomas-St. John District Jeannette Smith-Barry. “It will further allow for the school PTAs to engage in open discussions regarding their individual and collective concerns and an opportunity to voice their wishes for district support.”

Participation by all public school PTA presidents and their respective boards is requested. For more information or to register for participation, contact Sharon Richardson, district director of Parent and Community Involvement at 775-2250, ext. 8530 or via e-mail: srichardson@sttj.k12.vi.
