African Liberation Activities Scheduled for May 21-23

African Liberation Day is celebrated on May 25. ALD is an annual event organized internationally by the All African People’s Revolutionary Party (AAPRP) and All African Women’s Revolutionary Union (AAWRU). The national ALD theme is “Celebrating African Women’s Contributions to African Liberation and Unity.” Come summit for culture, education, work, politics, health, safety, life, activism, spirituality, community building and more. Learn more about ALD and its work for “Our Caribbean, Our Women, Our Africa and Our Humanity!” Admission to all events is free.

St. Croix activities: ALD Forum will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 21, at UVI St. Croix’s Little Theater (Melvin Evans Center). ALD Working Summit will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, at UVI St. Croix’s Little Theater (Melvin Evans Center)
St. John Activities: ALD Bamboula Summit will be held at noon on Sunday, May 23, in Cruz Bay, St. John, in the Housing, Parks and Recreation Community Center
