The long awaited enhancements to the department’s Unemployment Insurance Automated System, VIDOLA$, which will allow for automation of the Unemployment Extended Compensation 2008 (EUC08) Program, is at the conversion phase of the implementation process, according to a press release from Department of Labor Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr. Since 2008, the DOL has been issuing EUC08 payments using an in-house access data base, and has issued over $27,000,000 in extended benefits to date. The conversion of EUC08 to the VIDOLA$ system will improve the timeliness of EUC08 payments. In addition, the department has also enhanced its system to pay over $2 million dollars in retroactive Federal Additional Compensation (FAC) due to UI claimants. Unfortunately, the conversion process may create some delays in issuing EUC08 payments to UI beneficiaries. However, the conversion must take place.Regular UI benefit payments will not be affected by this conversion process.
The department apologizes for any inconveniences experienced as a result of this action, and appreciates the public’s understanding and patience.
