Police Announce Parking Restrictions for Jump-Up

The Virgin Islands Police Department has announced parking restrictions and street closures for July Summer Jump-Up Friday in Christiansted.

Parking

• King Street and Company Street will be closed to parking from King Cross Street to the wharf area.

• Queen Cross Street will be closed to parking from the intersection of Company Street to the waterfront at the Caravelle Hotel.

• Church Street will be closed to parking between King and Company streets.

• Free parking will be available between 5 and 10 p.m. in the U.S. National Park Service Fort Christian parking lot. Vehicles in the lot after 10 p.m. will be towed.

• Any vehicle found in the restricted areas will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

• Owners or drivers finding that their cars has been towed can contact the Ancilmo Marhsall Command at 1-340-773-2530.

Traffic Closures

• Vehicles traveling east into Christiansted will be re-routed at King Cross Street.

• Traffic traveling west on Hospital Street will be re-routed onto Queen Street to proceed west.
