Centennial Operations Integrate With AT&T

AT&T has announced the official integration of Centennial operations to provide customers leading innovation and a premier experience in 3G network coverage, sales and service. Monday, July 18, marked the official launch of AT&T and Centennial operations in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) and Puerto Rico under one brand – AT&T – to offer extraordinary network coverage enhancements throughout the USVI and Puerto Rico. Centennial customers will have the opportunity to migrate to AT&T, with immediate access to the latest AT&T 3G products and services, more points of sales and services throughout these markets and second–to-none customer service.

To prepare for the launch, AT&T has overlaid its already robust 3G UMTS network on most Centennial cell sites, providing increased coverage and a better in-building experience.
Now Centennial customers can immediately migrate to AT&T without incurring their Centennial early termination fee, gaining access to a robust lineup of innovative devices, including some of the most popular devices in the industry. Centennial customers migrating will have access to the company’s current rate plans as well as the most popular Centennial rates that have been recreated for their convenience when migrating their existing lines. The unveiling of the newly rebranded former Centennial Wireless retail locations will take place as the new AT&T stores begin a transformation designed to provide consumers and small-business customers with a more interactive and informative hands-on experience when shopping for wireless services.
Business customers will have a full array of integrated services available to them under the AT&T umbrella, including wireless, broadband, enhanced IP solutions and more.
“This union is very important and represents AT&T’s commitment to innovation and excellence in service. We believe it results in the best telecommunications provider in the USVI and Puerto Rico,” said Jose Juan Davila, vice president and general manager of AT&T Puerto Rico/USVI.
Benefits to Customers
· Networks integration means better 3G coverage. UMTS technology has been integrated to Centennial’s CDMA network sites, delivering enhanced 3G coverage for wireless subscribers in the USVI.
· Access to iconic devices on the fastest 3G network. Former Centennial customers will now be able to migrate to AT&T’s innovative portfolio of products and services, without activation or early termination fees. Customer will also be eligible for special equipment offers. AT&T Virgin Islands offers simple, competitively priced plans and a wireless network that provides a wide range of useful wireless solutions, such as industry-leading smartphones, quick messaging devices and popular netbooks.
· More AT&T locations. With even more retail locations in St. Croix and St. Thomas, AT&T will serve the wireless telecommunications needs of even more customers, enabling subscribers to do more in more places with their wireless devices. AT&T products and services are also available at a number of other authorized dealers. For the complete array of AT&T offerings, visit www.att.com.
Re-branding efforts: The new image for the Centennial stores begins with a brand change on July 18, gradually evolving into AT&T’s “look and feel” enabling a full “hands-on” experience for customers. Once the store redesign is completed, stores will feature an intuitive organization of products and services and provide a “try-before-you-buy” service experience. All wireless devices, including AT&T’s leading lineup of smartphones, are showcased on new power-enabled displays that make it easy for customers to test out advanced wireless data applications.
AT&T advertising campaign: A new advertising campaign will launch to announce the rebranding of Centennial to AT&T. The campaign elaborates on what this integration represents: Better coverage, innovation and service. The locally produced campaign is supported by a full media plan including direct mail, radio, local and cable TV as well as cinema and other promotional initiatives.
AT&T’s network: AT&T’s 3G mobile broadband network is based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) family of technologies that includes GSM and UMTS, the most open and widely used wireless network platforms in the world. AT&T offers 3G data roaming in more than 115 countries, as well as voice calling in more than 220 countries.
