Man Arrested for Hitting Woman With Table

St. Thomas police arrested Danny Cruz, a 32-year-old native from the Dominican Republic, and charged him with third-degree assault/domestic violence.
According to the police report, Cruz assaulted a woman Saturday evening, slapping her in the face and punching her on her body. Additionally, he is reported to have hit her on her head with a table.
Police said Cruz and the victim are involved in a relationship.
The victim received a contusion to her forehead, a bruise on her left arm and a sprained neck. She was transported to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Bail for Cruz was denied due to the domestic violence charge and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
