It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela J. Naughton Griffith Gittens, 79, originally of Frederiksted, St. Croix. After an illustrious and rewarding life, she died in the Bronx, New York, on Aug. 26. She is preceded in death by her husbands: Frederick A. Griffith and Wilmot W. Gittens; her brother, Phillip L. Naughton Sr.; and her nephews Virgil Henry and Phillip L. Naughton Jr.
Her memory will be cherished by her children: Stephen, John, Ronald and Rebecca; her brother, the Rev. Dr. Ezra A. Naughton; sister, Mrs. Jane Henry and her daughters: Vickie, Vera, Virginia and Veletta; her two granddaughters Shakirah and Angela; niece, Marcia Loyd; nephew, Ezra Naughton Jr., daughters-in-law: Kadijah Wilson Griffith and Mecca Perry-Gittens; the Naughtons of Virginia; and a host of other family and friends too numerous to mention.
The family welcomes friends and well wishers to the viewing at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the James Memorial Funeral Home in Christiansted. It will be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
