Man Injured in Bovoni Shooting Sunday

Police on St. Thomas are investigating a shooting in which a 26-year-old man was shot in the right elbow at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the Estate Bovoni Housing Community.
According to the police report, the victim said he was near his vehicle when he heard several gunshots. He realized he was shot when he felt a sudden pain in his elbow. The victim told police he did not see anyone in the area when the shots were fired.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to Roy Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the case, which it considers a first-degree assault.
