Two Robbed on Christiansted Boardwalk

Two men walking on the boardwalk in Christiansted were robbed at gunpoint by two unidentified men at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to the V.I. Police Department.

According to the initial police report, the two men told officers they were robbed by two men and that one of the men had a handgun. The victims said they were walking near the end of the Christiansted boardwalk, heading to their vehicle in the parking lot, when the suspects approached them demanding money. The victims gave the suspects their wallets and the suspects fled the area on foot toward the area of Water Gut.

The victims could not describe the suspects except that one was wearing a black jacket. The victim were unharmed.

The case will be followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Investigators urge anyone who knows anything about this robbery to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 712-6077, 712-6037, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
