District Holding 2011 Teacher of the Year Selection Banquet

The 2011 Teacher of the Year Selection Banquetwill be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa.

Ten outstanding teachers have been recommended by their principals for the very distinguished honor. The nominees are: Calvin Jones, music instructor at Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School; Myron Nicholls, math teacher at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School; Nurseen Davis, English teacher at Charlotte Amalie High School; Deborah Sharpe, first-grade elementary teacher at Jane E. Tuitt Elementary; Joan Dickenson, computer instructor at Edith Williams Alternative Academy; Stephanie Clarke, kindergarten teacher at Evelyn Marcelli Elementary School; Lucille Parson, kindergarten teacher at Guy Benjamin Elementary School; Daniella Roumou, fourth-grade elementary teacher at Lockhart Elementary School; Rasheba Grant, kindergarten teacher at E. Benjamin Oliver Elementary School; and Danise Charleswell, computer science teacher at Joseph Gomez Elementary School .
Superintendent for the St. Thomas-St. John District Jeanette Smith-Barry invites the public to come out and show support for the district’s outstanding teachers.Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased at the superintendent’s office at the Curriculum Center in Tutu.
