Police Charge Man with Second Degree Rape

Police on St. Thomas arrested Jelani J. Leatham and charged him with second-degree rape, the V.I. Police Department announced Tuesday.

Police said Leatham, who is 27 years old, had sexual relations with a 17-year-old female.

Leatham was arrested about 1 p.m. Oct. 23 and placed on a $50,000 bail. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
