Major Crime detectives on St. Croix have issued a wanted poster for 21-year-old Javon T. S. Duparl, also known as TJ. Duparl, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Duparl is wanted in connection with the June 3 murder of 37-year-old Andy J. Peters, who died after being shot multiple times in the Lorraine Village Apartments in Estate Grove Place. At the time of the murder, Peters was fitted with an ankle bracelet, awaiting trial on a 2011 gun possession charge, and had previously been incarcerated for more than a decade following a 1996 first degree murder conviction.
Detectives said Javon Duparl had been a person of interest early in the investigation. Following an investigation detectives issued the wanted poster.
In October detectives arrested Carol Barnes, 47, and charged her with concealing or failing to report a felony, making false reports and hindering officers in their investigation of the Peters’ case.
Duparl was born on St. Croix. He is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has black hair and black eyes. Police said he frequents the Lorraine Village and Mutual Homes Apartments as well as other Estate Grove Places areas.
Police warned that anyone encountering Duparl should take all precautions, as he is presumed armed and dangerous. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts should contact police.
Duparl’s information has been entered into the National Crime Information Center data base and is available to all U.S. law enforcement.
