Charles Alphonso Vallarde Sr. Dies at 84

Charles Alphonso Vallarde Sr. Veteran Charles Alphonso Vallarde Sr., also known as "Charlie" or "Vallarde," of Estate Anna’s Hope, Christiansted, on Nov. 16.
He was preceded in death by his: mother, Helena M. Vallarde; grandparent, Tryphena E. Harvey; son, Virtosso Vallarde; godparents: Christian and Christina Henneman; and special friend, James Collin.
He is survived by his spouse, Rita T. Vallarde; daughters: Cassandra V. Cintron and Delta Vallarde-McIntosh; sons: Charles Vallarde Jr. and Elroy A. Vallarde Sr.; grandchildren: Hannah and Christiana Cintron, Elroy Jr., Jason, Teresa, Charles III, Shaquanda, Voshon, Kobe and Adirah Vallarde, Ann-Marie, Michelle, Orsel III and Kristine Edney; great grandchildren: Elijah, Candejah, Kimoy, Iyannah Vallarde, Christian and Alexander Edney; sisters: Rosenel Brown and Olevine Rawlins; sons-in-law: Neftali Cintron, Sylvester McIntosh Jr.; brothers-in-law: Rudolph Riviere, Franklyn Ferdinand, Cecil Smith Sr. and Lionel Roberts; sisters-in-law: Helen Sealey Thompson, Doreen Jackson-Riviere, Marilyn Sealey, Anna Ferdinand, Teresa I. Molloy, Juel Molloy and Judith Molloy; and godchildren: Jerry and Christopher Carter, and Ernest Meyers.
He is also survived by special friends: Joseph L. Simmonds, Henry Schuster, the Orange family, the Carter family, the Petrus family, the Johnson family, Gerard Luz A. James II and family, American Legion Post 85, VA Clinic, Jubal Musa 1 Intl. Mason, VFW, Boys Scout Troop 154, Usie Richards, Tony Richards, Devin Carrington, Kevin Holmes, Henrique Santos, Raymond Matthews and Veronica Phillips; cousins and other relatives: the Weekes family, the Gibbs family, the Browne Family, Vallarde Family, Henley Family, Farrelly Family, Smith Family, Sealey Family, Thompson family, the Henry family, the Riviere family, the Henneman family, the Roker family, Patricia Barnes and family, the Begraff family, the James family, Petra Mendez and family, and Gloria Canegata-Waterman; as well as nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to mention.
There will be a first viewing from 5-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, at the Post 85 American Legion Hall, Christiansted. A second viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Frederiksted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery, Veterans Section.
