An intruder on Monday broke into Los Tres Fantastico on Kronprindsen Gade and escaped with the business’ petty cash, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to the report, the intruder pried open a window, reached in and unlocked the door. Once inside, he took $80 in petty cash from the register, and then looked around for more.
The owner told police that she was inside her business sleeping when she heard someone breaking in. She said she remained quiet, and then saw a man enter and remove money from the cash register. She said the man had a flashlight and, when he pointed the flashlight around the business, he saw her looking at him.
The burglar then fled the area, according to police. No one was injured. The owner said she did not recognize the intruder.
