Man Charged with Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

Kirk T. JordanKirk T. Jordan, 38, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, a charge related to a Nov. 23 incident in which a man was injured.

According to the V.I. Police Department, officers were dispatched Nov. 23 to ABS Printing in Western Suburb in Christiansted. Police said an individual, later identified as Jordan, led police inside, where a man was found wounded by an apparent gunshot.

Jordan told police that he had been cleaning his weapon and it went off, striking the victim, whose name was not released by police. The victim was taken to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital by ambulance.

A warrant for Jordan’s arrest was issued Thursday. Jordan was arrested at about 6 p.m. Friday in Estate Glynn.

Along with the possession charge, Jordan was charged with possession of ammunition and false reporting. His bail was set at $25,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
