Salvation Army Suffers Another Break-In

The Salvation Army has more repairs to make after another break-in early Thursday morning. Assailants broke two doors and took off with a laptop computer and other electronics.

This is one of many such break-ins over the last year and a half, said Capt. Anna Hawkins, a pastor and administrator at the Salvation Army.

“I’ve lost count,” she said. “It is a continual thing.”

Detectives were called in on Thursday and spent the day gathering evidence.

Hawkins was very pleased with the response from the Police Department. “They did a wonderful job,” she said, adding that since yesterday the detectives have been in contact with her and following through with the investigation.

The Salvation Army will make repairs and continue their work of providing the community with the resources they need, Hawkins said. “The day goes on. We’ll just continue to shore up and make it a safe place” for our clients and volunteers.
