Man Wounded by Gunshots in Frenchtown

Police on St. Thomas collected several spent shell casings in Frenchtown after a man reported being wounded by gunfire just after midnight Monday.

According to the V.I. Police Department, the victim – whose name was not released by police – told officers he parked and got out of his car near the Frenchtown ballpark when he heard shots being fired. He then realized he had been shot.

The victim told police he sought cover behind a parked car before being taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle.

The victim was struck on his chin and grazed on his ear and left shoulder, according to medical staff.

Police later recovered evidence in the area of the Image Night Club. Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are following up on this case.
