Monique Liburd Honored As Woman Leader in Tech Law

The Recorder Newspaper has named Virgin Islands native Monique Liburd as one of 50 women leaders in Tech Law and will honor her at a reception Sept. 23. She is the daughter of Levi S. Liburd of L & L Jeep Rental and Nancy Fish Liburd, who teaches music at Julius E. Sprauve Elementary School and is also known as Anna Fisher, a Molin Music recording artist. They both live on St. John.
Liburd attended Pine Peace (now Gifft Hill) and Julius E. Sprauve schools on St. John in her early years. She graduated from Hamilton High School Music Academy, Los Angeles Unified School District; California State University, Northridge (cum laude); and Boalt Hall Law, now Berkeley Law School at University of California, Berkeley.
In 2013, she was named 40 under 40 by the National Bar Association and won the Innovation Award for 2013. VI Source featured her accomplishments last year. She was born on St. Thomas, but she grew up on St. John.
