Angel M. Morales Dies at 90

Angel M. Morales Angel M. Morales, also known as “Chico” or "Chiquitin," of Estate Whim, Frederiksted, died on Nov. 8 at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was 90 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Genaro Morales Hernandez and Maria Madera Rivera; brothers-in-law: Osvaldo Rodriguez, Vicente, Modesto and Enrique Romero; and sisters-in-law: Isabel, Victorina and Felipa Romero.
He is survived by his wife: Josefina Romero Morales; daughters: Angela Maria and Irma; sons: Wilfredo Fernando, Angel Luis, Jose Manuel and Lawrence Smith; grandchildren: Kaisha Arnold, Nelson, Jessica and Eric Morales, Natasha and Neftalie Morales, Patricia, Jose Miguel and Eliut Morales, Rachel and Kellie Smith, and Zurita; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Maria Rafaela Morales de Rodriguez; nieces: Vilma and Vanessa Rodriguez; and daughters-in-law: Manuela Mateo-Morales, Erie Matthias-Morales, Sharon Smith and Liduvina Morales.
He is also survived by son-in-law, Julio Torres; brothers-in-law: Angel and Anatolio Romero; sisters-in-law: Margarita Maldonado, Amparo Gerard and Ilma Asencio; special friends: Leonor and Oscar Asencio, Leroy "Cricket" Henley, Luz and Francisco Melendez, Enrique "Quique" Ayala, Barbara and Reylam Guerra; acknowledgements: Dr. Hugo Ventura, Dr. Dante Galiber, Dr. Raymond Cintron and Father Patrick Lynch; special mention to the nursing staff and all the staff of the Juan F. Luis Hospital; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or any charity of your choice.
There will be a viewing held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the James Memorial Funeral Home Inc. There will be a second viewing at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
