Visiting Bikers to Celebrate Special Olympians

A group called Motorcycle Cruises by Signs of Travel will be on St. Thomas Tuesday, arriving aboard the Celebrity Reflection Cruise Ship, and will host a ceremony and meet and greet with V.I. athletes, according to Special Olympics of the Virgin Islands.

The group aims to raise awareness about Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Since 1981, police departments all over the U.S. and the world hold torch runs to benefit the Special Olympics.

The U.S. Virgin Islands held its inaugural run in March.

Special Olympics of the Virgin Islands is asking for the Special Olympics Virgin Islands athletes and the community to come out to the Richard Callwood Command, in front of the Fort Christian parking lot, at 9 a.m. Tuesday to be a part of this event to show support on behalf of all athletes of Special Olympics.
