Corrections Officer Charged in Hair Theft

Odessa Simon, 31, of Estate Glynn, was arrested at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday and charged with grand larceny, the V.I. Police Department reported Friday.

Simon was arrested for an incident that occurred at Diamond Girl, a store in the Sion Farm Shopping Center. According to the police, Simon allegedly took three packs of Virgin Hair, valued at $235 each, for a total of $705. Police said she placed them in her bag and left the store without paying for them.  

Bail for Odessa Simon was set at $35,000 and she was released on her own recognizance.

The Bureau of Corrections identified Simon as a corrections officer assigned to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility.
