Regulatory Utility Commissioners Pick PSC Commissioner for Committee Seat

The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) has selected Virgin Islands Public Services Commission’s (PSC) Commissioner Raymond J. Williams as a member of the Committee on Consumer Affairs. Williams is honored and is looking forward to serving on the prestigious committee.
PSC Executive Director Donald Cole commends Williams for being named to the committee. He believes that Williams will represent the PSC and the people of the Virgin Islands well, and is looking forward to attending the NARUC Summer Meetings where Williams will take up his role and membership on the committee.
NARUC President Travis Kavulla said the appointment of Commissioner Williams will help the cause of strengthening effective public regulation.
The chairman of the committee on consumer affairs, Brandon Presley of Mississippi, sent his congratulations and welcomed Williams to the team.
The NARUC Consumer Affairs Committee focuses on analyzing the growing and changing role commissions play in protecting consumer interests. With the emergence of competitive markets across the telecommunications and energy industries, consumer protection has become far more important than in the past.
