“Student achievement is the number one focus of the Department of Education and we all have a stake to play in it,” Commissioner Sharon Ann McCollum, Ph.D., said. “Whether your profession is in the classroom, the lunchroom or the boardroom, we must all join forces to ensure our students are learning and thriving.”
McCollum went on to say that “with our persistence and dedication, and with our hearts and hands united as one, we will attain our goals of producing well-prepared students to meet 21st Century demands, generating higher test scores and developing tomorrow’s leaders to their fullest potential.”
Parents and students are reminded of the dress code: female students’ skirts must be long enough to touch their keens; over-sized pants should not be worn; belts must be worn with uniform pants; comfortable, flat shoes, or black or white sneakers may be worn with the uniform; female students may wear earrings not to exceed the size of a quarter; male students should not wear earrings on campus.
