The Virgin Islands Department of Education’s Office of School and Community Affairs, St. Thomas-St. John District, invites parents to attend the free Parent University Bootcamp, Dec. 6-20, at Lockhart Elementary School. Classes will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturdays.
Parent University is designed to support parents and to give them the skills to help their children become successful. The university will feature classes on computer literacy, improving children’s reading skills and more. Classes will be offered in both English and Spanish.
Complimentary transportation will be provided to and from Lockhart Elementary at specific locations on St. Thomas. Pick-up and drop-off locations in the East are the Smith Bay Ballpark Bus Stop, Holy Family Church, Bovoni Bus Stop, East End Boat Park Bus Stop and Nadir Bus Stop. In the West, pick-up and drop-off locations are Windward Passage Bus Stop, Winston Raymo Recreation Center Bus Stop and Kirwin Terrace.
Free childcare services will be provided and refreshments will be served.
