CBCC, Kean H.S., Gifft Hill to Hold ‘Trash to Art’ Competition

Coral Bay Community Council has partnered with Eudora Kean H.S. and Gifft Hill School to hold a competition called “Trash to Art.” It will take place at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, at Gifft Hill School.

The art is being displayed in a few locations, mainly in Cruz Bay’s Town Square, next to Lattes in American Yacht Harbor, Red Hook. One piece from the competition will be auctioned off at a Gifft Hill School fundraiser in Coral Bay.

The main purpose of this art competition is to bring attention to St. John’s solid waste management issues and start a dialogue about what can be done, such as repurposing items that are no longer wanted in their initial role.
