Renee Charleswell, Ph.D., director of the Virgin Islands Department of Education’s (VIDOE) State Office of Special Education (SOSE), informs parents and guardians of children with disabilities, between the ages of three through 21, of the Annual Parental Survey to be conducted territory–wide beginning Tuesday, Feb. 21. Confidential data will be collected on the level of parental satisfaction with the Special Education Programs and related services provided by VIDOE’s Division of Special Education.
The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) – Eastern Caribbean Center will independently conduct the survey process by telephone interviews.
“Survey results will assist with improving services provided to children with disabilities and their families as the State Office of Special Education continues in its venture to improving overall results for children and youth with disabilities throughout the territory,” said Dr. Charleswell. “We look forward to the full cooperation and participation of our parents. The State Office of Special Education would like to thank you for your time and participation in this very important data collection activity.”
