U.S.V.I. Beach Soccer National Team to Attend Championship Tournament in Bahamas

The U.S. Virgin Islands Beach Soccer National Team will be participating in the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship Feb. 20-26 in Nassau, Bahamas. This is the second championship the U.S.V.I. will take part in; they participated in the 2015 edition of this tournament, which was held in Costa Rica.

For this year’s championship, the U.S.V.I. will compete in Group C with Trinidad and Tobago, U.S.A., and Antigua and Barbuda. The members of the U.S.V.I. delegation include: John Phillip, Michael Vollmer, Erik Mozzo, Vincent Schultz, Carlos Quezada, Nicholas Klemczak, Emiliano Aranes, Denny Smith, Kimani George, Ba-Samba Juma, Christopher Rosario, Esaias Charles, Alvin Randolph (manager) and Ruy Branco (head coach).

The champions of this tournament will gain qualification to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which will also be held in Nassau in May.  The tournament consists of 16 countries from the Caribbean, and the North and Central America regions. The matches will be streamed live on www.beachsoccer.com
