V.I Guardsmen to Receive Free Haircuts March 5 During Military Saves Week

Across the nation, military installations and service members are receiving information and advice on financial matters.  Military Saves Week (MSW) is an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior, while individuals assess their own saving status. This year, the Department of Defense designated Feb. 27 through March 4 as MSW, which is part of the America Saves Campaign, a year-long event to promote financial readiness.

A good savings plan is critical for long-term financial stability. Whether a person is budgeting, saving, making retirement decisions, assessing benefits or sharing with their children no matter their age, good savings habits start at home. If a person still doesn’t know where to start, Military Saves can help.

One local business on St. Croix is doing its part to help V.I. Guardsmen save. During this month’s military drill training weekend, Karibbean Kuts will provide free haircuts for V.I. Guardsmen and continue its mission to help those in need in the community. On Sunday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to noon, soldiers and airmen (between the ranks of E1 Private to E4 Specialist) can get a free haircut at the Lieutenant Colonel Lionel Jackson Readiness Center (armory) on St. Croix.
