Think Education to Host V.I. Education Revitalization Symposiums

Think Education invites educators, parents and other stakeholders to participate in an educational symposium scheduled for 6-9 p.m., on Tuesday May 9, at the University of the Virgin Islands, both campuses. The UVI – St. Croix campus symposium will be held at Room EVC 401 (theater); the St Thomas campus symposium will be held at Room BUS 110.

The symposium is the evolution of conversation and theory crafting among a group of individuals concerned with both the present state of education in the territory and the significantly untapped potential for student opportunities. The mission is to advance a consortium of public and private sector representatives focused on revitalizing education to better prepare students for both the territorial and global stage.

The symposium will open with remarks from panelists assembled from members of the public and private community, student representatives and private-sector professionals.  Following, attendees will be asked to voice their own assessment of the state of public education and identify what they feel to be crucial to the revitalization process.

This collaborative event will conclude with open-forum Q and A as well as discussion of action-oriented solutions, ultimately laying the groundwork for the formation of an Education Revitalization Think Tank.
