Shane Degannes (standing second from the right) joins fellow Caribbean track and field coaches who successfully completed the IAAF Level II Coaches Course with a specialty in middle and long-distance running. It was held at the IAAF Regional Development Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Previously, Shane had completed the Level I Course on St. Thomas and ranked high enough to be selected to take the Level II course. He is the founder of the St. Thomas Track Club and the coach of outstanding high school runner Evan Jones of Gift Hill Academy on St. John among others. Also, he is the race director for M to M Road Race on St. Thomas, and he is the top V.I. masters long distance runner up to the half-marathon.
