Ferry Partners Expand Service to Blyden Terminal

In a joint statement to the public, Delrise Varlack, president of Varlack Ventures Inc., and Loredon Boynes Jr., president of Transportation Services of St. John Inc., have announced that the corporations’ combined St. John/Charlotte Amalie ferry service operations began operating out of the Edward Wilmot Blyden IV Marine Facility, St. Thomas, effective Aug. 1.

Varlack said, “We are excited about the utilization of the Blyden Marine Facility counter space as it allows for increased security for our clients who will embark/disembark in the covered facility rather than on the heavily-trafficked waterfront apron.  Additionally, the move will translate to enhanced services as there will be parking, convenient access to accessible restroom facilities, an eatery and a covered open-air terminal, which is especially helpful during times of inclement weather.”

Service is between St. John’s Loredon L. Boynes Sr. Dock in Cruz Bay and the Edward Wilmot Blyden IV Marine Facility in downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.  One-way fares for the 45-minute ride for adults are $13 and for children $3.50; baggage fees are $4 per item.
