Tahien Thomas died of gunshot injuries at the Schneider Regional Medical Center about nine hours after being shot. The shooting took place minutes after midnight in the Bovoni area. By the time homicide detectives arrived at the scene of the shooting, Thomas had already been transported to the hospital for treatment of a single gunshot wound to the head. It was unclear whether Thomas was the target of an assailant or whether he was struck by a stray bullet from the customary illegal discharge of firearms that mark the beginning of the new year.

Lenny Hedrington, Jr., 23, was shot and killed Wednesday morning in Estate Thomas. Officers were dispatched to Estate Thomas at about 10:27 a.m. When they arrived at the scene Hedrington was already in the ambulance, which transported him to the Schneider Regional Medical Center. He was declared dead at 11:09 a.m.

Two unidentified Hispanic men in their 30s were shot dead Monday night in Polyberg, near Charlotte Amalie High School, according to the V.I. Police Department.

De’Moi Corraspe, 27, was shot and killed at about 5:11 p.m. at the Paul M. Pearson Gardens housing community. Police responding to the scene found the body of a black man, identified as Corraspe, lying face down in what appeared to police to be a pool of blood.

19-year-old McDonald Samuel was killed in a shooting at about 7:11 p.m. between buildings 16 and 17 in Lorraine Village. Officers arriving at the scene found Samuel and determined that he had no pulse. He was declared dead at the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital.

23-year-old Mario Huggins was killed in a shooting in the area of the Bovoni Housing Community. Police received reports at 11:20 p.m. of shots being fired in the area of the housing community. Shortly thereafter, a citizen called 911 and reported that he was traveling to the Schneider Regional Medical Center with a gunshot victim, later identified as Huggins, who had received a wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police responding to a report of a shooting at Building 11 of the Tutu Housing Community found two gunshot victims. One, identified as 30-year-old Paul Smith of the community, died of his injuries. who succumbed to his injuries sustained during the shooting.

911 dispatchers received a call of shots fired in Estate Profit at 7STT – 59 p.m. Officers also were informed that there was a gunshot victim at the location. At the scene the officers found an unresponsive man lying on the ground bleeding. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMT staff and was later identified as Hector Torres, 35, who was also known as “Pollo.”

Four people were shot at about 8:23 p.m. at the Cockpit in Estate Glynn. 16-year-old Juan Aponte was declared dead at the scene. Three others were injured by gunfire, one seriously.

Lawrence Greenidge, 28, a second victim of the March 12 shooting at the Cockpit in Estate Glynn, was declared dead early in the morning of March 16. Greenidge had been shot in the head at the Cockpit, a site popular with the cockfighting crowd.

Juan de Dios, 17, died Saturday night in a shootout with police. Dios was one of three armed teens who allegedly stormed into the McDonald’s at Sugar Estate and took employees and customers hostage. One of the hostages was able to contact police who rushed to the site. According to police, in the ensuing exchange of gunfire, Dios was killed and two other suspects were wounded and taken into custody. It was not immediately clear whether the fatal shot was fired by police or the gunmen.

Jose Saez Rosario, 55-year-old Fredensborg man, was stabbed to death Friday during an argument that began over a broken windshield. A suspect, 46-year-old Edwardo D. Garcia Jr., turned himself in to police and was arrested and charged with second-degree homicide, according to the V.I. Police.

Findlay Collymore, 49, died at about 4:25 p.m. near Villa Reine, Kingshill, as the result of what the V.I. Police said was a fight. Francis “Ducky” Vanterpool told police he and Collymore had been under the Villa La Reine vegetable market when Collymore assaulted him with a wooden plank, striking him on the head and multiple other places across the body. Vanterpool told police he was able to get to a bottle which he broke and stabbed Collymore in the chest. Vanterpool was arrested and charged with murder, according to the VIPD.

41-year-old Niyen Jamil was found shot to death in the area of Bolongo Bay. Police responding to a report of shots fired found a man with blood on his clothing and body sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The victim appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personal. The victim was identified as Jamil by a family member.

18-year-old Akil Grieg Jr. died when he was shot multiple times at about 2:19 a.m. when shots broke out during a fight at a restaurant parking in Sub Base. Grieg was one of two injured by gunshots. The other, a 26-year-old man, was treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition later that morning.

The 911 emergency call center received a call at 12:16 a.m. Sunday reporting a male shooting victim, later identified as Jeffrey Javier, in the Contant area. The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Schneider Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

35-year-old Alldix Callwood was killed in a shooting shortly after noon Tuesday in the Smith Bay area. At 1:13 p.m. the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots fired in the Smith Bay area. Responding officers found a lifeless male individual in a truck. Emergency technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead. Next of kin identified the body as Callwood.

An officer on patrol reported hearing shots fired at 10:22 p.m. in the D. Hamilton Jackson area. Officers are on the scene discovered the body of a man in the D. Hamilton Jackson area, known as the “Red Brick” housing community. As of June 5, police still had not released the name of the victim.

At about 2:40 p.m. a citizen called the 911 emergency call center to report shots fired in the Watergut area. Officers at the scene found an unresponsive Hispanic male with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the upper body. The man, identified by the VIPD as 23- year-old Dean Schneider, was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital where he died from the the gunshot wound.

20-year-old St. Croix man identified by police as Markel “Malik” Joseph was killed at the Cool Out Bar parking lot. At 1:58 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a report of shots being fired. At the scene they found an unresponsive male lying on his back with multiple gunshot wounds. Patrons inside the bar said they had heard gunshots but did not have any other information about the incident.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. May 17, 911 received a report that a man had been stabbed around Back Street by the gut, or Gutte’s Gade. The man, later identified as 50-year-old Ronald Kern of Estate Bellevue, had been admitted to the Schneider Regional Medical Center with puncture wounds to his chest. He told police he had been involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown woman when a male he knows as “Herbie” approached and stabbed him. Kern succumbed to his injuries June 9 and the case was upgraded to a homicide.

Jahkima Moore, 32, died in a shooting on Scott Free Road. According to the police, at 5:54 p.m. the 911 call center received a report of rapid gunfire on the Scott Free roadway. Minutes later a citizen called and reported a Jeep Wrangler had struck a wall and appeared to have an unresponsive male in the vehicle.

A woman identified by police as 23-year-old Shauntol S. Yearwood. was found shot to death in the Clifton Hill area. At about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday citizens in the Clifton Hill area called 911 reporting shots fired. At the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive female, later identified as Yearwood, lying on the ground with multiple shots to body. Medical attendants declared her dead on the scene.

Vascott David, 22, was found in the area of Estate Lerkenlund. At the scene officers found an unresponsive black male with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds about his body.

A man was killed near the Watergut Shanty in Christiansted when a verbal altercation turned violent. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Gregory Barnes of Christiansted. According to police, at 7:03 p.m. citizens called the 911 center to report shots fired near the shanty. At the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim with multiple gunshots to the body.

Two men were killed at about 2:15 a.m. when shots were fired in Smith Bay in the vicinity of Lake’s Chicken Fry restaurant. Officers at scene in the area of Value Foods convenience store saw one man, who appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot, lying on the steps just outside the business. About 15 feet away, outside of the Lake’s Chicken Fry restaurant, officers discovered a second male who also appeared to have been a victim of gunshots. EMT’s arrived on the scene and pronounced both male victims deceased at the scene.

A young man who was injured July 22 died at the Schneider Regional Medical Center the next day. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Troy Etienne. It was the third shooting death in Smith Bay in two days. At 9:32 p.m. July 22, a citizen called 911 reporting that several shots were fired in the Smith Bay area. Upon arrival patrol officers confirmed that a man had been struck multiple times to his body while sitting in his vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Schneider to be treated for his injuries. At 3:45 p.m. July 23 Etienne succumbed to his injuries.

At about 6 p.m. citizens called 911 to report gunshots in the Sugar Estate area. At the scene officers found the unresponsive body of Jason Augustin Eustache, with gunshot wounds to his body, on 6 Street in Estate Sugar Estate. Medical personnel pronounced him dead on the scene.

Date of death – Between July 31 and Aug. 2

Lyana Serieux and her young sons, 10-year old Jordan and 5-year old Jeremiah Serieux, disappeared July 31. They were last seen at about 5 p.m. at the Lagoon Complex, heading towards their residence in Cane Estate. On Aug. 2 the bodies of the two boys were found near Ha’Penny Beach. On Aug. 3 the body of a woman, later identified as Serieux, was found in the cistern of an abandoned house behind the Mutual Housing Community.

Police responding to a 7:13 p.m. call reportng of a man down after multiple gunshots were fired in the vicinity of building 24 at Mutual Homes in Grove Place found the body of 24-year-old Atnelle Livingston Harris. He died on the scene after having sustained what appeared to be multiple gun shot wounds to body.

At 7:14 p.m., 911 dispatched officers to a report of gunshots in the vicinity of Watergut at the Ruby Rouse Homes. At the scene, officers found 22-year-old K’hing John lying unresponsive in the parking lot vicinity of Building 4. He had sustained multiple gun shot wounds to his upper body area. The victim was transported by ambulance to JFL, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m.

27-year-old Rudolph Rudell Maduro was killed by multiple gunshots in a parking lot in the Red Hook area. According to police, at 1:32 a.m. Sunday a citizen called 911 to report multiple shots fired in Red the Hook area. A man appeared to be down, according to the caller. The victim was transported to Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

22-year-old Abijah Fahie died early Thursday morning when shots were fired at in the area of the Estate Tutu Apartments in Ras Valley. Police responding to a report of gunshots found an unresponsive male individual lying in the parking lot by building 14. He was identified as Fahie by his mother.

St. Croix – 17

Date of death – Sept. 14

27-year-old Alex Camacho was shot and killed while walking to work in the Castle Coakley area, the V.I. Police Department said. According to police, at around 7 a.m. Thursday the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call of shots being discharged in the Castle Coakley area. Officers at the scene found an unresponsive Hispanic male – Camacho – with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim died of injuries sustained from the gunshot.

Goshell Walters, also known as Foma, was stabbed to death at the Clinton Phipps Race Track at Nadir. The 911 center received a call at about 1:14 p.m. reporting a body at the race track. At the scene, officers found an unresponsive male lying on his back, covered in blood, in the concession area. The victim, Walters, had sustained a puncture wound to the lower right abdomen and trauma to the head. He died as a result of injuries. The Special Operations Team apprehended a suspect, 47-year-old Dane McIntosh, within two and a half hours of the initial call to 911. McIntosh was still within the vicinity of the track when he was apprehended, police said. In a statement to the Investigators, McIntosh admitted to stabbing the deceased. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
