Each year, Pistarckle Theater, located in picturesque Tillett Gardens, presents a special holiday-themed play. This year, it will delight audiences with a popular comedy about Christmas, chaos and kids.
The central theme revolves around the trial and tribulations of a couple producing a Christmas pageant. The pageant’s cast must be inventively awful and devilish kids, resulting in mayhem and fun. “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” by Barbara Robinson, directed by Pistarckle’s Frank Bartolucci, will be presented on Saturdays, Dec. 9 and 16, and on Sundays, Dec. 10 and 17, with performances at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
The expansive 30-member cast includes nine adults and 21 children, ranging in age from 3 to 17 years-old. This is the second play in the theater’s 2017-18 Season line up.
The original season opener, “Evita!,” has been rescheduled as the premiere play for the 2018-19 Season in October 2018. This year’s season opener in November, “Alternative Facts,” an original play by St. Thomas playwright Matthew Hamilton-Kraft, played for four weekend performances. The remaining 2017-18 Season offers an ever-popular play, another original locally-authored play, and the fourth year for the New Playwrights Festival. “The Color Purple/the Musical” will be presented in February; “Going To Come Back,” by St. Thomas playwright Susan Hunter (the sequel to last year’s popular “Catch and Keep”), will be presented in May; the New Playwrights Festival will be in June.
Tickets to “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” are $25 for adults and $15 for children to age 17. For more information and a link to online ticket sales, visit www.pistarckletheater.com, call/text 227-8451 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
