Governor Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff to Honor Firefighter

Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp has ordered the lowering of the U.S. Virgin Islands flag as the community mourns the passing of veteran firefighter Dwayne Thomas. With more than 22 years of service, Thomas will be honored for his outstanding dedication to the Fire Department, his fellow firefighters and the territory.

All Virgin Islands flags at Government House and on all local government buildings in the territory will be flown at half-staff, effective immediately, until sunset on the day of his interment, Wednesday, Feb. 7.
