Parks and Recreation Announces Final Standings of Girls Basketball Playoffs

The regular season is finally over.  The following are the final standings, according to the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation (DSPR)/ St. Thomas-St. John Schools.

  1. Antilles Canes 6 – 0
  2. Yvonne Bowsky 5 – 2

    3. Leonard Dober      5 – 2

     4. Lockhart                5 – 2

  1. Ulla Muller      3 – 4
  2. Gladys Abraham 2 – 5
  3. Antilles Hurricanes 1 – 6

The tie breaker procedures were emailed out on March 2.  The first criteria for breaking ties is head-to-head winner.  Since the league has a three-way tie, it must proceed to the second step, which is least points allowed between the tied teams.

Bowsky defeated Dober: 5 – 3;

Dober defeated Lockhart:   13 – 10; and

Lockhart defeated Bowsky: 18 – 10.

So Dober allowed 5 + 10 = 15 points;

Bowsky allowed 3 + 18 = 21 points; and

Lockhart allowed 13 + 10 = 23 points.

Leonard Dober ended up in third place.  Now DSPR is left with two teams: Bowsky and Lockhart. DSPR returns to the first criteria, which is head to head.  Lockhart defeated Bowsky; therefore, Lockhart is the 3rd place team and Bowsky finished 4th.
