Body of Missing Man Found at Green Cay

A body identified as that of 46-year-old Jason Parr was found Friday morning in the water at Green Cay Marina, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

According to the police, Parr was last seen at the Deep End Bar at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. He was reported missing Friday.

At about 8 a.m. Friday members of the VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau were canvassing the Green Cay Marina for sign of Parr. During the search officers observed and smelt signs of decomposition in the area of a moored barge. A diver went under the barge and found a body dressed in the the same article of clothing Parr was reported to have been wearing.

The remains were removed from under the barge and identified by his next of kin as the missing Jason Parr.

Investigation into the death continues and the case awaits the conclusion of an autopsy.

Police urged anyone with information about the case to call the Criminal Investigations Bureau at 340-778-2211, the 911 call center or the anonymous top service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
