The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean sub-regional headquarters for the Caribbean has released an exclusive new documentary on the impacts of hurricanes Irma and Maria across the Caribbean.

Featuring unique content, on-site interviews and on-the-ground footage shot in the immediate aftermath of the disasters, “Irma & Maria” takes an insider’s look at the consequences of the disasters on peoples’ lives and offers behind the scenes insights into the work carried out by ECLAC in the wake of the hurricanes.

The documentary was very well received by Caribbean prime ministers and ministers during its first official airing, which took place during the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee meeting on Saint Lucia, April 27.
