A man was killed Sunday night in a shooting in Frederiksted.
The victim was identified by the next of kin as 39-year-old Johnny Silverio De La Cruz, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, at about 6:40 p.m. the 911 call center received reports about shots being fired on Queen Street in the vicinity of the Vegetable Market in Frederiksted.
At the scene officers found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Medical attendants at the scene tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful.
