Election Day, Nov. 6, 2018, will be a defining moment in Virgin Islands history.
As our collective community continues to work through the myriad challenges related to rebuilding and refocusing our lives from the devastations of hurricanes Irma and Maria, we must now face the immediate need to prepare our homes, families, businesses, loved ones and ourselves for this year’s hurricane season.
Having lived through two Category 5 storms in less than two weeks, all of us are personally aware, in a very keen and intimate way, that having a responsive government of trustworthy, competent, committed, experienced and transparent leadership, with the passion to put people first and to execute efficiently and effectively, is both a moral imperative and our right.
Now more so than any other time in Virgin Islands history, Virgin Islanders must be personally aware of the critical role that government plays in uplifting the Virgin Islands from a disaster zone to a Caribbean powerhouse. Creating an economy that works for all of us, fixing the fragmented health care system, protecting retirement benefits and achieving excellence in education are the top four priorities of the Smith-Frederick 9-Point Prosperity Plan and Comprehensive Strategic Visions.
