Rotary Club of St. John Plans Meetings and Events

The Rotary Club of St. John will celebrate the induction of five new members at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Dalivio’s in Cruz Bay. The cost is $20 to cover the food.

The new members are: Wendy Bailey, Brad Dow, Raven Phillips, Chad Prentice and Gary Ray.

The meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 15, will feature Rachel Rachfal, who is with the St. John Community Foundation. Rachel’s topic will be “St. John Roll Call,” which is a well thought out program to locate residents in the event of a disaster. This meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Lucky Chops. The cost is $20 to cover the food.

Rotary’s next community project is the distribution of school supplies, which will take place the first week of September. On Nov. 22, the club is organizing, once again, “Thanksgiving in the Park.” Last year (and this year too) it partnered with the St. John Community Foundation to feed over 700 people their Thanksgiving dinner.

Unlike many news organizations, we haven't put up a paywall - we want to keep our journalism as open as we can. Our sites are more popular than ever, but advertising revenues are falling - so you can see why we could use your help. Our independent journalism costs time, money and hard work to keep you informed, but we do it because we believe that it matters. If everybody who appreciates our reporting efforts were to help fund it for as little as $1, our future would be much more secure. Thanks in advance for your support!
