Body Found Floating in Cruz Bay Harbor

A body was found floating in the Cruz Bay Harbor near the customs dock Thursday morning, and while the V.I. Police Department said the preliminary investigation shows no sign of foul play, police are continuing to investigate.

The body was identified by family members as 43-year-old Deon Stephens.

Police were alerted to the incident when callers reported it to 911 at about 7 a.m. Thursday. Officers and support units responded to the scene and discovered the body floating in the harbor.

The case remains under investigation pending an autopsy report from the medical examiner.
