A man and a woman were injured Sunday, the woman seriously, when shots were fired from a vehicle in Red Brick, Christiansted on St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to the police, at 7:04 p.m. Sunday the 911 Emergency Call Center received calls reporting a repeated discharge of shots from a white Malibu Chevy Sedan in Red Brick, at an unknown individual running in the vicinity of Building 2.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered that two individuals had been shot, one male and one female. The names of the victims were not released.
The male individual sustained minor injury and was treated at the Juan F. Luis Hospital and released. The female sustained injuries to the lower torso and the leg which severed a major artery. She was airlifted later that evening to the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
