Event Featuring ‘Sounds of the Virgin Isles’ to Benefit Music and Arts in Schools

Sounds of the Virgin Isles

Senator J. Sarauw in partnership with the Department of Education will host the 2nd annual “Sounds of the Virgin Isles.” This fundraising event, which is dedicated to our public school’s music and arts education programs, will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 30, in the historic Fort Christian Museum.

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and a live auction from 6-7 p.m., and the concert will start at 7 p.m. Attendees will be taken on a cultural journey as students showcase their talents through music and dance. This year the Virgin Islands Musical Ambassador honoree will be Monet I. Davis.

Sarauw invites the community to attend and contribute to this event that benefits V.I. public schools’ music and art programs. Over the years, there has been a decrease in funding and development of such programs that also serve as academic interventions in the territory.
