STT: Police Arrest Stevens on Firearms, Threat Charges

The V.I. Police Department on Sunday arrested Allan E. Stevens and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearms, threatening, and other charges.

According to police at about 6:35 a.m. Sunday officers from the Richard N. Callwood Command was contacted by the victim, who told them Stevens threatened to kill him because he has not finished fixing Steven’s vehicle.

The victim said the incident took place while he was attempting to buy coffee from Happy View. He he noticed that Stevens was walking behind him. The victim then stated that when he turned around, he saw Stevens with a firearm in his hand and Stevens told him, “I will kill you.”

Police said the victim told officers that right after Stevens threatened him, he observed a marked police unit on patrol, so he flagged down the police unit. While flagging the police, the victim said, he saw Stevens travel on the road adjacent of Happy View Market to where three vehicles were parked. Officers conducted an inspection of the road adjacent to Happy View Market and located a firearm underneath one of the vehicles in which the victim identified as the weapon Stevens brandished at him.

At about 9 a.m. Sunday, police arrested the 42-year-old Stevens and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition, disturbance of the peace (threats), carrying/using a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen property. He was advised of his constitutional rights, police said, booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing. Stevens was unable to post the $50,000, bail.
