Governors Bryan, Rosselló Meet in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló, right, and Governor Albert Bryan Jr, converse during a meeting at La Fortaleza in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tuesday.

While in San Juan on Tuesday, Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. met with Puerto Rico’s Gov. Ricardo Roselló. They discussed the ongoing recovery efforts in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as preparedness ahead of the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season.

Both governors committed to establishing a working partnership between their governments and to partnering in the creation of maritime transport and other economic development opportunities.

“It was great to meet with Governor Rosselló this morning. We had a good conversation on what we hope is the beginning of an effort to connect our economies more closely and a partnership to bring decades-long issues to resolution. We need to look to Puerto Rico more as a partner and not a competitor,” Bryan said.
