Bryan Proclaims Holiday Season Administrative Leave

In an effort to encourage greater participation in the Crucian Christmas Festival events and to enhance the celebration of the season, Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. has authorized commissioners and agency heads to grant administrative leave to non-essential employees. Administrative leave is granted for non-essential government employees and does not apply to essential employees, employees on a regular or rotating shift and employees on annual or sick leave.

The designated government holidays are:
December 25, Christmas Day
December 26, Christmas Second Day
January 1, New Year’s Day
January 6, Three Kings’ Day

St. Croix only:
Thursday, Jan. 2, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., St. Croix Festival Food, Arts and Crafts Fair

Territorywide:
Tuesday, Dec. 24, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Christmas Eve
Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., New Year’s Eve
Friday, Jan. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., St. Croix Festival Children’s Parade

Administrative leave does not apply to essential employees, employees on a regular or rotating shift and employees on annual or sick leave.
